"MR. HOLMES"---FIRST LOOK AT IAN MCKELLEN AS SHERLOCK

The film, directed by Oscar winner Bill Condon, tells the story of a long-retired Sherlock Holmes haunted by an unsolved case from fifty years ago.

The film, which is due out in 2015, follows a long-retired Sherlock Holmes haunted by an unsolved case from fifty years ago. He remembers only fragments: a confrontation with a angry husband, a secret bond with the beautiful but unstable wife. With his legendary mental powers on the wane and without his old sidekick Dr. Watson, Holmes is faced with the toughest case of his life.

On playing the world's most famous---and enduring detective---the seventy-eight year old actor comments, "Over seventy actors have previously played Sherlock Holmes. Now he's ninety-three years old and it's my turn."

RUSSELL CROWE AND RYAN GOSLING IN COP DRAMA "THE NICE GUY"

The script, co-written by director Shane Black with Anthony Bagarozzi, is set in Los Angeles during the 1970's, and centers on a pair of detectives investigating the seeming suicide of a female porn star whose career was on the decline---leading to the uncovering of a criminal conspiracy.

Black wrote the script for the first "Lethal Weapon" starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as a pair of LAPD detectives in what became a lucrative four-film franchise.

In this storyline, the two detectives---one a muscle-for-hire recovering alcoholic and the other, a private eye practicing alcoholic---are brought together by the suicide of the fading porn star.

Problem is, the dead girl's aunt is convinced she saw her niece alive and well after the highly publicized incident. The case blossoms into a far-reaching murder conspiracy rooted in smog and the U.S. auto industry.
