|TOP GUN 2 WILL BE
TOM CRUISE VERSUS DRONES
While promoting his new book Jerry Bruckheimer: When Lightening Strikes. Four Decades of Filmaking, the producer revealed that the 1980's classic would be updated for the current world of warfare. It's 28 years since Top Gun first took to the skies and Bruckheimer revealed that the sequel is getting closer to being reality.
He points out that a follow-up to the Tom Cruise blockbuster which was set at the Navy's elite fighter weapons school in San Diego during the Cold War, will reflect today's changing world of warfare.
The concept for the film---just getting to the starting phase---is "are pilots obsolete because of the use of drones." Although no director has signed on as yet, one thing is clear.
Tom Cruise's role is going to show that top guns are here to stay.
