THAT'S REALLY A JOB?
ODDEST HOLLYWOOD CAREERS

People get paid to cater to every conceivable A-List need or wish in Hollywood.

The Lost Pet Detective
If not for Sarah Sypniewski, Chris Bender wouldn't have enjoyed the New York premiere of We're The Millers, which he produced. His 7 year-old Tibetan terrier Rosie went missing the night before in L.A. Then Bender stumbled upon Sypniewski's NinjaDog Concepts service that charges $350-$550 a day. She devised a strategy that included a robcocall service that alerts people in designated zip codes. The next day Rosie was found and the Benders flew to New York for the opening.

The Produce Gatherers
Many Hollywood lumineries rely on getting weekly baskets of organic, locally sourced sustainably farmed comestibles delivered to their homes at the peek of freshness by Produce Project. Founders Sarah Delevan and Shaheda Sadhal select the crème de la crem of the Central Valley and offer it up to their A-List susbcribers. They also visit each farm they buy from to make sure their Nature's bounty is truly organic.

The Gift Consultant
Simone LeBlanc's eponymous business finds presents that help agents keep talent feeling very special. One present, a $10,000 poker chip, required flying security guards to Las Vegas to retrieve it. Her clients are looking for everything from exclusive one-of-kind creations to holiday baskets stuffed with specially chosen for each diet preference delicacies. Says LeBlanc, a former stylist, "People need to give gifts that stay in clients' minds."

HERE'S WHAT A $10,000
PHONE LOOKS LIKE

Reading about the Signature Touch line of smart phones by Vertu might make the fiscally-responsible side of your brain kick into a fugue state. But the ever-indulgent chocolate-for-breakfast-because-I-can side will enjoy the details about these hand-crafted pieces of technology.

A durable titanium casing, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal screen and a back cloaked in premium animal hide (leather or crocodile---your choice) as well as a ceramic "pillow" around the earpiece of the handset greet the luxury user.

Even the Signature Touch's SIM card holder is a nifty distinction. The user folds out a little ring handle on the back side of the phone, twists it and it pops open a swinging door, the inside of which is signed with an etching by its builder. Each phone is assembled by a single person from soup to nuts in Vertu's factory in England.

Signature Touch keeps text messages and phone conversations on lockdown. It comes with voice, video chat and text encryption powered by Silent Circle. These features are free for the first year and the British would never leave you without your own personal butler. For 12 months the phone-worth-a-car will have a concierge service attendant, After that, the 24-hour helper will cost a mere $3,000 a year.

What ever you do, don't drop it!
