KEVIN COSTNER LEADS
TEAM FOR "CRIMINAL"


The star is currently in negotiations to head the cast of "Criminal." The film revolves around an imprisoned ruthless killer.Rather than spend the rest of his life in jail, he chooses to be used in a medical experiment. The procedure involves implanting the brain of a recently murdered field operative in the killer's head.

In the last year, Costner has stayed busy mixing lighter material with darker, edgier projects. The actor followed his critically acclaimed performance in "Man of Steel" as Clark Kent's father with two action-heavy roles in "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" and "Three Days to Kill."



He was most recently seen in the sports drama "Draft Day."

Costner still has the drama "Black and White" and the Disney sports film "McFarland" set for release this year.

Seems Costner isn't done showing his edgier side.
MERYL STREEP TO PLAY
MARIA CALLAS IN
UPCOMING HBO FILM


Meryl Streep---the Oscar winner who's transformed herself into Margaret Thatcher, Anna Wintour and Julia Child---will play opera legend Maria Callas in a small screen film version of Terrance McNally's play "Master Class' for HBO.

"Master Class" debuted on Broadway in 1995 starring Australian actress Zoe Caldwell. Others who've tackled the role include Patti LuPone and Tyne Daly. In the play, Callas reminisces about her storied career and personal life which included being dumped by Aristotle Onassis for the widowed Jacqueline Kennedy.



One review of the play's 1995 opening said of Onassis, "The Greek multimillionaire is so rudely and viciously recollected that he virtually becomes an onstage character."

Mike Nichols will direct the adaptation of the Tony Award-winning play about the iconic diva Callas teaching students at Julliard in 1971.

WHO WERE THE SIGNERS?


Have you ever wondered what happened to the fifty-six men who signed the Declaration of Independence? This is the price they paid: Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons in the revolutionary army, another had two sons captured. Nine of the fifty-six fought and died from wounds or hardships resulting from the Revolutionary War.

These men signed, and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor! What kind of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants. Nine were farmers and large plantation owners. All were men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well they would be guilty of treason and the penalty could be death if they were captured.



Such were the stories and sacrifices of the America revolution. These were not wild eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged: "For the support of this Declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."

Think of The Fifty-Six Signers this July 4th 2014 while enjoying a barbecue with family and friends, a trip to the beach, a ball game. Because here were men who believed in a cause far beyond themselves.

CINDY CRAWFORD CELEBRATES HER 50TH BIRTHDAY IN 2015 BY RELEASING NEW BOOK


Taking a look at Cindy Crawford it's hard to believe she's nearly 50. And to celebrate her upcoming birthday, the super model is releasing a book with publisher Rizzoli in fall 2015.

According to Ms. Crawford, the new photography book is a way to celebrate 50 rather than dreading it. Stating it's not a biography but "a sort of hybrid of her life, career and family," she considers the project to be a symbol of her conscious choice to embrace the upcoming milestone and feels the book will help to throw the occasion into a positive light.

In addition to the book, Cindy Crawford continues to work on her skin care line, Meaningful Beauty, which pulls in a reported $100 million annually, and, in February 2015, announced her partnership with healthy lifestyle company, Urban Remedy.



Commented Ms. Crawford, "This is a new, exciting phase in my career where I'm able to follow my passion and support a growing company that is relevant and interesting to me."

Speaking recently about embracing her age, Cindy Crawford said "Beauty changes as I get older. I've always found that beauty and confidence are synonymous. If you feel confident, that's what people see."
